Who We Are

Founded in 1990 by Mrs. Victoria Churchill Koomson, CEWEFIA is a women-focused NGO operating across Ghana. We empower rural communities, particularly women fishmongers and farmers, through practical interventions that promote economic resilience, sustainable livelihoods, and community well-being.

Our programs include:

• Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLA)

• Safe fish handling and value addition

• Financial literacy and business management training

• Alternative livelihood skills development and start-up support

• Anti-Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing initiatives

• Awareness creation and support against gender-based violence and child labor, abuse, and trafficking (CLAT)

Through these initiatives, CEWEFIA equips women and youth to lead positive change, strengthen their communities, and foster sustainable development.
