CEWEFIA joins in the celebration of International Women's Day.

No country can flourish if it stifles the potential of its women": Michelle Obama.

In line with this year's theme for International Women's Day "Investing in women, Accelerate progress" given by the the United Nations, we join our voice with Michelle Obama's to state that a country that stifles the potential of its women cannot flourish.

CEWEFIA, a women-oriented organization with the main objective of liberating the rural poor from oppression, eliminating hunger and economic injustice, and building self-sufficiency and sustainable development is elated about the celebration of women because of her special focus on the poor, rural fishmongers, and women farmers, their families and communities.

We believe that women are a great asset to every flourishing economy and we gain much more when we invest in them. We have been intentional about empowering women in the fishing and farming communities through our various projects which highlight economic independence through alternative livelihood, financial literacy, business management, and the fight against gender-based violence.

We join in the celebration of the incredible strength, resilience, and achievements of women around the world. At Cewefia, we stand proud of our amazing community of women who inspire and uplift each other every day.

International Women's Day, calls us to reflect on the progress we have made as an organization that empowers women and continuously advocates for gender equality. Together, we can create a world where every woman has the opportunity to thrive, succeed, and make her mark on the world.

To all the women at Cewefia, thank you for your dedication, passion, and the unique contributions you bring to our community. Your stories and voices shape our narrative, and we're honored to celebrate YOU today and every day.

Let's continue supporting and empowering one another, breaking barriers, and fostering a world where equality and inclusivity reign supreme. Happy International Women's Day!
